Riders – hands on bars please – unless you’re Peter Sagan

We have all seen riders in the pro peloton flashing down an alpine pass in an aero tuck with their forearms delicately poised on the bars. Well, good luck to them, but at the Waratah events, it is a definite no-no. Cycling NSW (who sanction our racing) have reminded us that this practice constitutes dangerous riding and offenders need to be warned or otherwise penalised. Most of us have trouble controlling the bike with both hands on the bars but a few of you A graders may be tempted to “do a Sagan”. Please don’t. We will be watching and you could miss out at the prize presentation.
